French Baguette Bread
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cup warm water
- 1 1/4 pkg active dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 3/4 Cups flour
Instructions
- mix yeast and warm water together, set aside 5-8 minutes until foamy
- put flour in mixer bowl and stir in the salt
- When yeast/water mix is foamy pour into flour/salt mixture
- mix until dough comes together and pulls away from sides of bowl
- Let dough hook continue to knead until smooth and elastic about 8 minutes
- Place dough in greased bowl
- cover with damp cloth and put in warm place to raise for about 2 hours until double
- turn dough out on floured surface
- separate dough into 2 or 3 pieces
- Roll each piece of dough into long, thin, loaves with slightly tapered ends
- Place loaves on to baking tray
- slit tops of each loaf 2-3 times each
- let raise again for approx 30 minutes
- Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes until golden
