Smoked Sausage One Pot Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 Pound spaghetti
- 1 package smoked sausage sliced fairly thin
- 1 lg. onion thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, finely sliced
- 3 C. halved grape tomatoes ( or whatever tomatoes you have on hand)
- 1/2 C. fresh basil leaves
- 4 1/2 C. water
- 1 C. freshly shredded or grated parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In large stock pot or dutch oven add a few splashes of olive oil
- add smoked sausage to pot over medium heat
- cook sausage until nicely browned
- add garlic and cook until tender and fragrant
- add the water, spaghetti,onion, tomatoes, basil and salt and pepper
- bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook uncovered until pasta is cooked through
- and liquid is absorbed
- about 10 - 12 minutes
- stir in parmesan and serve
